The AWS have been trying to get clear guidance, on how you stand with regard to getting your manufacturer warranty scheduled motorhome habitation check or caravan service done, during Coronavirus.
They have very helpfully written to us on the subject. Here is what the AWS had to say:
Dear All,
In light of the growing concerns surrounding Covid-19, the governments advice for elderly and those in the ‘at risk’ groups to self isolate and the general age demographic of caravan/motorhomes owners, I have asked all scheme supporting manufacturers if there will be any lenience during this period for warranty servicing.
All have said they are reviewing the situation daily but agree it is difficult to put a time frame on anything therefore will be prepared to consider each case individually in an attempt to help those affected during these uncertain times.
In all cases I suggest where possible the owner make the manufacturer aware of the delay, keep proof of the original appointment and rebook for the earliest opportunity. Clearly if the problem continues appointments may need to be postponed again but that bridge will have to be crossed at that point in time.
Not crystal clear guidance from the manufacturers, but for very understandable reasons.
If you wish to book your service now as advised, you can see the safety measures we have in place to adhere to social distancing guidelines here.
Stay safe,
The Habcheck Team.
