There are a number of reasons your customers should get an annual habitation check, mainly to do with safety and maintaining the condition of the vehicle. Also, if it's a motorhome and they hire it out, they have a legal obligation to have an annual gas check. But for you, perhaps the most important thing is that you want to do all you can to avoid the possibility of fires on site. Faulty and leaking gas appliances are the main cause of this and both of these inspections check the gas system for potentially dangerous faults.
